Jenny Laskowsky’s work is an exploration into the Internet and the digital age. The work explores how the medium of the Internet empowers its audiences through turning them into active contributors, enabling them a greater freedom of speech and ease to produce and distribute their own content. The work examines the ability to access and own content online; through appropriation it questions copyright and authorship. Through the juxtaposition with physical objects the work causes a tension between the real and the unreal, the materiality and immateriality, the physical and digital. Overall, the work questions, what is the digital revolution; and how does art sit within and in relation to it.
