Emma Sheehy’s works on paper are an utopian/dystopian world inspired by science fiction. Her sub-aquatic world seeks to subvert our performative identities. Sheehy’s creatures have a playful irony whereby they live outside the rules of our world but there is a logic to them; they will forever remain as not this and not that. Her world is a place that is very much outside of our realities, with personified creatures floating through time in space.
